Breakfast Speaker: Paul Marsh, President and Chief Executive Officer, Arizona State Mine Inspector

 

 

Paul Marsh is an Arizona native, a United States Marine Corps Veteran, and a miner with nearly 30 years of experience in the mining and construction industry. Marsh’s career started as a laborer and heavy equipment operator, but through hard work, Marsh has expanded his career and has held several key positions, such as safety manager, director of safety, and operations manager. He is the current Arizona State Mine Inspector, appointed in November 2021.

 

Marsh has more than 15 years of working in mining and construction safety, is a Certified MSHA Blue Card Instructor, and is a Certified Mine Safety Professional. He has earned numerous awards from the industry including the Arizona Rock Products Safety Professional of the Year, the Arizona Mining Association Copper Pot Award, and the Arizona State Mine Inspector’s Office Safety Professional of the Year.

Violina has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Alabama and has worked for 17 years in industries providing value-added solutions to the Mining Industry. She has 13 years of global leadership experience in various functions including Technical, Marketing, Business Development, Corporate Accounts, and Sales. Violina is currently Vice President of Sales in the Mining Division, at Nalco Water.

Tips for a Successful Career in the Resources and Process Industries

After graduating as a chemical and metallurgical engineer from Colorado School of Mines, Doug Pitts still continues a 55-year career in the minerals, hydrocarbons and alternative energy sectors. He has worked as an operator, project manager, and technology entrepreneur. He will discuss the career moves he made – good and not so good – and the changes in career options in this new economy. Finally, he will recommend some paths new entrants and those with established careers should consider, and target technology areas of interest.
